Stuck in a slump? How to raise your vibration naturally-15 tips and tricks.

I’ve realised that my journey is enabling me to understand where I perhaps have knowledge that I never really noticed I possessed! Learning to naturally raise my own energy is something not only innate to me in part, but learned over time. You could say that in NLP terms I have become ‘unconsciously competent’ of what I know here, in that I barely realise that I even know it any more! This means that the challenge for me has been to almost ‘break down’ this unconscious knowing, making it not only ‘conscious’ but to compartmentalise it into simpler steps for the good of others, so that they may too make see some benefit.
I suddenly realised all this on on my first dog walk of the day this morning. The sun had come out behind a fluffy white cloud in a spectacularly vibrant blue sky and I felt that familiar swell in my chest that signified gratidue for life, and for ‘being’, subsequently pulling out my phone to try to capture the memory! It lead of course, to a post on social media and the realisation that this feeling within my chest that now swelled many times a day, hadn’t always there for me, but had been something I had learnt to ‘tap into’. This feeling had always been accessible to me of course, but never always utilised. Together with the joy of being, this was a high vibrational swell of love that I could evoke with a mere thought and appreciation for the life around me.
This led of course to musings of the day and ways to tune into higher vibrational frequencies. How and what was I doing?! How do I normally always wear a genuine smile?! What is it that seems to have come out of my spiritual soul-based journey of the last decade, that has enabled me to feel so very, genuinely lovely day to day?! What is it that has enabled things to bounce off me better than they always have?!
I feel compelled to put here, that I am by no means impermeable to negativity of any kind. As an emapth, this will always be untrue. However, when you’re vibration is naturally higher, things really do effect and bother you less, and not only that, but you notice that the life around you matches your new new vibration!
Many people call this ‘manifestation’ or ‘The law of attraction’. What you give out you receive. The way you feel internally reflects the way you align externally. When you’re vibration is higher, the lower vibrations seem to naturally fall away from you, and this happens all on it’s own, almost as an unwritten universal law. It just happens! Your life will always match your vibration, so in order to get the life you want, you must raise your vibration etc!
Something I teach in Reiki is reflective of this. Each Reiki attunement given will natually raise the vibration of the student. The more attunements, the higher the vibration. Students are taught therefore, to expect changes after their reiki course due to the energetic shift. They know that as their vibration shifts, so also may they views, thoughts, perspectives, needs, desires, likes and dislikes. People, situations, work, foods, habits etc, may no longer ‘fit’ the energy of the student. As the reiki tries to raise the energy of the student, it’s up to the student to notice this and try to embrace these changes, knowing that those changes are for their highest and greatest good. For example, I had one lady after completing reiki 1, stopped drinking coffee and switched to herbal teas, smoked much less and began to eat 3 meals a day, where she would normally just snack at night and go without all day. The reiki raised her energy and she then realised what she needed to do and found the motivation she needed to do it! The old life no longer ‘fit!’ Had she chosen to ignore this feeling though, and the new, higher vibrational energy coursing through her, she would have eventually slipped back into old patterns of behaviour or made no changes at all.

It’s very similar in every day life though, as we sometimes fight a seemingly impossible internal battle to keep ‘up-beat’ or keep our spirits up! As we seem plagued by low moods and low energy. As we can even feel victimised by our circumstances and ‘this oppressive thing we call life!’
While I have clients for 121 EFT and coaching, and love working very deeply to embrace the darker emotions that may come from our shadow selves, I also really love working to push people past their comfort zones and into the ‘almost insurmountable realms’ of true love and self-acceptance, and into a place from which bravery, motivation and empowerment can occur! These little energetic shifts will happen for clients week by week, and they invariably leave, not only feeling lighter and happier, but with a few tools in their arsenal for the week ahead! But for those of you that would just like to start feeling a little better in the coming days and weeks or even straight away, I have included below a few gentle tips from my own experience, or the experiences of others:
1.Learn what helps AND hinders.
If something makes you feel good -and not a quick fix of sugar, caffeine or other addictive substances which ultimately make you feel worse later on- then try to incorporate more of that into your life.
If on the other hand, you know something effects you negatively, then it may be time to enforce better boundaries with yourself or others. See Boundaries below.
2.Practice GRATITUDE
This will be the most fundamentally powerful tool you have in your arsenal. It will actively rewire your brain, not only to be more positive but to be happier! Start with the little things-maybe write a little diary entry every morning, listing 5 things you feel grateful for in that very moment. This will enable you to take stock in the little things. All the GOOD that is going on in your life, encouraging your mind to focus on more positive things! This can quite literally, help you to take some power back, so please don’t underestimate it!
3.Know your limits
This is when you need to be learn to be honest with yourself and take action accordingly where you believe necessary. If you fear something will be too much or know something IS taking too much from you, then listen to your intuition, learn to keep a steadier pace with things, eliminate what doesn’t serve you or become more boundaried with yourself to avoid burn out. Again, see boundaries below.
4. The thoughts are just thoughts. You don’t have to listen to them!
If you’re aware of your mind often running it’s own potentially negative commentary, you can either choose to listen and believe what is being said (which is what many of us choose, often leading to anxiety, unease and catastrophising behaviours) or to choose to simply notice those thoughts as they come in. Simply recognising the thoughts as thoughts, while the movie screen or the commentary plays in your mind. As soon as you do this, you free your true conscious self, from any identification with the negative thought. You are simply you- that beautiful divine soul in a human body going about your earthly life and not a representation of the thought!
Allow thoughts to come and go. Allow them to be a bit like the incessant fly that goes in and out. Don’t bother to swat it away, just allow it to be there- again swatting away is more resistance and more negativity- never really giving it your full focus. The thought will leave. If you give the thought too much of your attention and respect, you will believe that the fly is part of you and who you are! You will indentify wit the thought which will generate more suffering for yourself. There is great, great learning in this and the more you can get out of the negative mind stream and try to implement more positive thoughts, the higher your vibration will become.
See practising self-respect below
5. Practice self-love and acceptance
This sounds so cliche, but this is one of the fundamentals that I teach, because I believe it to probably be one of the most important lessons we can ever learn while on earth. We can learn to love ourselves, accepting ourselves for what we are (and not what we aren’t), and in so doing, we give ourselves the validation we have always sought! There’s nothing a human being craves more than it’s own self love and acceptance, for this connects us with our soul essence and truth. Our higher self you might sau. So don’t ignore this step, it may well be the most important!
Try looking at yourself in the mirror every day and smiling at your reflection. It may feel uncomfortable to start with.
When you manage that with relative ease, try saying ‘I really like you, you’re a good person’ with a smile that doesn’t feel forced or fake. If it doesn’t work, go back to step one for a while. If it does work, eventually progress to ‘I love you.’ You’ll know when it’s working because you’ll probably have a rush of warm emotion flow up into your chest and face. It won’t feel forced. It’ll feel true. Perservere with this!
6. Practise loving gestures
The more giving and open you can be with your smiles, facial expressions, gestures, compliments, and actions to others, the more you’ll attract the same and the higher your vibration will become. Again, if you’re not attracting the same despite this, you may need to check your limits, boundaries and self -love and accpetance. Are you respecting yourself here? If you aren’t you’re unlikely to always get it back. Remember the law of attraction. Self respect begets respect! See below.
7. Practice self respect
Again this is noticing the negative thoughts when they come in. Just ‘be aware of the thought fly as it buzzes about but don’t keep watching or feeding it.
Are you giving that thought respect by listening to the negative self deprecating, fear-based thoughts? If you focus on it, you feed it and we don’t want to feed the negative thoughts!
From here, you need to watch the way you talk to and about yourself via your thougths- whether verbal or non verbal. If a self sabotaging thought comes in, don’t chastise yourself, as again, you’re adding to the negativity and feeding more negativity into the thought! Simply notice the fly in the room, while instructing your conscious mind to where you would LIKE to focus your attention. Perhaps on some gratitude? Perhaps on something positive about yourself-even that self love!
Learn to treat yourself with the loving respect you would treat someone else you love. Nurture yourself as you deserve to be nutured. Again, this won’t come easily without a degree of self love, so practice, practice!
8. Boundaries
You may need to have better boundaries with yourself and others. This is often difficult if you’re accustomed to self-depreacting and negative self-talk. When our vibration is very low or we have a very low opinion of ourselves-because of poor treatment from others in the past or conditioned thinking- it’s sometimes very hard to ask for anything for ourselves or even stand up for ourselves. A boundary is our way of saying “I respect and honour myself and here is my line which you can not cross or to simply ‘I deserve better than this’.” This teaches people to respect your boundary and in turn you! And it teaches you in turn, to better respect yourself. Boundaries actively teach respect, from others and for ourselves. Choosing to respect yourself in essence is a boundary for yourself, so be clear in your boundaries moving forward.
9. Find time for yourself and for mental quiet
Switch off your phone or device. Perhaps practice a meditation, go for a walk or listen to some calming music. Again, rave music may not help your mind, body and soul unwind, so choose wisely and choose the music that resonates with how you wish to feel. i.e. if you’re uptight or stressed play calming music so you can try to resonate with calmer energy.
Allow your mind to clear if you possibly can and your body to soften. You will gain great clarity of mind in these moments, so give yourself permission to have them.
10. Learn to receive a compliment!
As humans, we’re not always very good at receiving a compliment (or giving them!) and being grateful for it when it comes! At these times we often feel uncomfortable, even ‘disbelieving’ and quickly seek to ‘deflect’ the kind word or gestures if they don’t align with our beliefs about ourselves. The truth though, is that this ‘comfort zone of deflection’ may be keeping you stuck and unhappy, so learn to push past that, smile and merely say ‘thank you’ with graciousness when someone says something nice out of the blue! When you do, you’ll notice the dynamic will shift beautifully to a more open and trusting relationship or interaction. Perhaps you can even give a compliment or kind gesture back!
I don’t believe there are enough ‘complimenters’ in this world anymore! My beloved grandmother was wonderful at it and so also, is my older sister. They both taught me the power of expressing a nice thought and giving it to someone as a heartfelt and genuinely honest gift, and I wish for more of this in the world now! I see it as a need for humanity. I believe I compliment everyone now with nearly every interaction. Not because I’m ‘making things up’ to try to ‘win them over’ or ‘buy their affections or rapport’. I’m simply acknowledging and vocalising the nice and very true thought or appreciation that entered my head at that moment, and I am choosing to share it with them! If you have a good thought about someone-why keep it to yourself?! Tell them!
11. Work on the physical body as well as the internal body
It is very difficult for your vibration to be high if you’re not looking after the precious vessel that life has blessed you with. We all know that our bodies need proper rest and adequate nutrition and this will rarely come from pulling all nighters, taking addictive substances and regularly eating processed food. I of course, can appreciate that life has to be realistic, but become more mindful of the choices you’re making for yourself. Again this is a boundary, and a ‘limit’ you set for yourself. If you know something makes you feel worse, then try to stop doing it! Listen to the soft cues your body tries to give you via your intuition or the negative effects that diet or lack of exercise may give you. The more you ignore the cues, the worse you”ll feel about yourself so act accordingly!
12. Protect your energy!
This works in conjunction with our boundaries and limits, but noticing when things, people, situations, news stories, facebook posts are truly bothering or upsetting us, or lowering our vibration, is a good start in helping us to make small changes to better our lives.
If you’re an empath in particular like myself, this will become so, so much harder to deal with. This is why I wrote my workshop on energetic protection. See link. https://simplysoulfulawakenings.co.uk/courses/
If life feels regularly overwelcoming though, make sure you’re spending plenty of time in nature to ground yourself and try to imagine a bubble of protective light from heaven around your energetic and physical body. This is very basic protection, but it can help. For anyone wanting more information, here’s my relevant blog:

13. Do the shadow work when it’s needed.
For some, it’s very hard to move on or out of a slump without perhaps beginning to gentle face the elephant in the room or the shadow elements of us-the parts of ourselves that we invariably leave hidden out of fear or shame. For some, these things hold us back, like heavy chains of iron around our ankles and it can be very hard to vibrate higher because these things can condition all our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves.
It’s at this point, that client’s intuition often leads them to have a reading with me, where I may feel what is going on via my clairsentience and they may then choose to work with me on a much deeper and safe level through EFT and coaching. https://simplysoulfulawakenings.co.uk/eft/
But if this feels a bit like you right now, reach out to people. To people you trust and preferably someone trained to help you navigate through this in a safe space i.e. a counsellor, psychotherapist, or someone like me who specialises in EFT and the forward thinking of coaching practices. And please remember-if it feels very dark, please don’t venture alone.
14. Choose love over fear
Don’t let fear rule your life. Choose to embrace love at every oppportunity. Wherever you go ask yourself, “am I choosing love or fear here?” “Is my decision here based in love or fear?”
If the answer is fear, then you need to perhaps have a rethink. Remember that love will be bring you the higher vibration that you seek and you’ll then be aligning with your soul truth. Your higher self.
15. Shine your light into the world.
Never underestimate the difference you can make at any given time. Small things can make a big difference! Always be open to offer your time or service to others. We ALL have a reason for being here, and we should seek to help others at every opportunity. Again, we’re working with the law of attraction when we do, and more of that will come back to us! If it’s aligned with your soul, and doesn’t affect your boundary, self respect, self-love or your limits, then reap the rewards of doing, purely for the benefit of aiding another human being! Not merely for reward or a returned favour, but simply as an act of loving service. Notice how that changes the way you feel about yourself and your own value. Now go and shine that light! You ARE light my friend! Love, Min.x
