Emotional Freedom Technique
(EFT)
What is EFT ?
EFT or the Emotional Freedom Technique is something I qualified in, at the end of 2023, so I am now a practitioner certified and accredited by EFT international. Termed as an ‘Energy Psychology’ or ‘Emotional Acupuncture’, it has been scientifically proven to help conditions like stress, anxiety, depression, pain, trauma, addictions, PTSD, low mood, pain, weight issues and phobias in clinical trials.
EFT is a very gentle, very safe and very deep healing process. It couples beautifully with Reiki
for emotional healing, as they both work to gently pull up anything which no longer serves us for our highest and greatest good.
EFT can be a very quick process and due to its proactive nature it can be favoured by some over standard talking therapy. It also only uses the words of the client, so the client can bring as little or as much to the table as they choose at any one time.
I now use EFT a lot in my 121 coaching sessions in order to bring all my tools to the table for the benefit of the client, however they can be practiced separately as well.

How does EFT work?
EFT works by tapping on the ends of the meridian points in the body in a sequence, whilst focussing on anything undesirable the client wishes to release. The meridians follow the lines of the body where energy flows (according to Chinese medicine).
By tapping on the points we are able to release any blocks or imbalances sitting within the energy of the body.
It is believed that whenever there is a disturbance in the energy to the body, mainly through emotional upset, there is a certain ‘charge’ left in the body. If not acknowledged and released this can create issues within the body at a later date.
This ‘charge’ can be dissipated with EFT. The ‘charge’ is what feeds further emotional upset as well as generating physical issues later in life. We can desensitise our experience of the negative through the tapping, until it no longer affects us.
Whilst tapping, it has been proven that we release some of the body’s cortisol,which is one of the chief stress hormones made by the body. This means that we can feel better very quickly and this is often rapid!!
