You are not alone! When life throws you a curveball!
I asked for the title of my next blog to appear whilst taking one of my weekly swims in the local pool. There’s something about water that is both cleansing and invigorating, but more than that, it has the power to facilitate divine inspiration. This has been my previous experience anyway and the experience of many others before me.
So I had put it out there, knowing that I was in the midst of one of the toughest times in my life to date, and the answer that came back was the blog title ‘You are not alone.” I knew that this title, this message, was meant not just for me, but meant for everyone else feeling lost, alone, desperate or broken. I heard it like a trumpet call blasting it’s announcement into the ether! Not just a whisper or even a echo as spirit information often is, but a bellow, a shout, and a battle cry! I felt the enormous power of the truth as I propelled my arms and legs with force through the water. I knew that no matter what curveball life was throwing at me; and despite my current physical and emotional pain, my challenges, and my grief, I WAS NOT ALONE!
And I felt all the power and truth of that knowing- and it blasted me through the water, my legs kicking at full speed, spurring me on to do even more lengths than I have to date! And the honest truth…… I could have done more…
So I asked what the blog would look like, and the response was again a ‘knowing’-a simple few words; ‘It will write itself’. So here I am, putting finger to keys, and away they clickety clack, and I have no awareness of which words will be typed from moment to moment. I left that up to them!
The truth is that we are, most of us, existing in turbulent times at the moment. No one really has it ‘easy’ ever. And most of us are living an internal battle that others will, for the most part, never be fully aware of.
We all carry our heart aches, fears and grief around like a weight upon our back, which gets heavier and heavier unfortunately over time. Most of the time, we don’t even realise we’ve been carrying a heavy weight, as it becomes our day to day ‘normal’. White noise if you like. We may not even notice until it suddenly grows especially heavy. And the weight becomes so difficult a burden to bear, that the universe starts to say softly and then perhaps with increasing volume, ‘Stop! It’s time to put some of this down now!’
Now sometimes this will look like a health crisis. Sometimes a mental health condition, like anxiety or depression. Sometimes a major life transition will put so much additional weight upon our back, as in my case, that it becomes unbearable. Of course, many people would not consider a major life transition, mental health condition or physical illness as a loving gift from the universe, but it IS one. We are were never meant to carry the weight upon our backs like a slave to pain. We were born to feel pain, yes, not carry it with us. Meant to take off the weight, observe it, honour it and value it for it’s lessons, and then choose to leave it behind. Sometimes it still gets to sit there as an echo of the journey travelled, but doesn’t create a weight for our backs any longer.
The universe facilitates this by creating situations that feel unbearable at the time, but that force this change! Think of every bad situation or circumstance within your life….Did you learn and grow from it?! Yes you did! The universe was operating FOR you, not against you!
The knowing behind this, if you can allow yourself to open yourself to it, gives enormous comfort. The belief that every single hurdle- or even what feels like-flame thrower you’ve faced in life, was forcing you to a place that you ultimately needed to be. Moulding you into the new and improved version of yourself. Challenging everything that is outdated.
It feels uncomfortable. Very, very uncomfortable. It can also be painful. isolating, frightening, lonely, and dark. But growth always is.
I am reminded that I recently got myself a tattoo. The first tattoo of my life at 45. The lotus flower; to remind me always, that a lotus rises up from the murky depths of it’s existence to blossom and bloom. In fact, it requires the murky dark water to do this! This tattoo gave me the strength and resilience I needed at a time when I felt I was drowning. And it is emblazoned upon my back like a emblem of that resilience and strength.. Carried upon the upper portion of my spine to remind me of my internal, external and spiritual support in life. It holds my head up! It pulls back my shoulders! It fuels my belief that I will endure!
The strength of the knowing I felt in the pool, is a knowing that I have felt for most of my life; but it has increased in intensity over the years, and now I work as a spiritual coach, teacher, and psychic medium, helping people feel connected to the weight upon their own backs in order to put it down. Helping them connect to others more richly and helping them foster their own connections to the universe at large.
My unshakeable belief in a divine power, the collective consiousness, God or something ‘other,’ is what fuels my readings, my teachings and more than anything, my own soul.
It’s what allows me to trust that the right words will come through in a blog. What allows me to trust that the right cards will be pulled in a reading. It allows me to trust that I am exactly where I need to be, even if it sucks!! It is what tells me, in no uncertain terms, “you can be living in the eye of the storm right now and still be safe and at peace. “
And so I write this, as one that sits in the eye of a storm, or at the very least, the strong tail winds, and says. “I will be ok. ” ….And you all know that too. Not cognitively perhaps. but on a soul level -as a little voice inside that whispers to you. I have felt that for a long long time now. It is that believe in me that is allowing me to weather this storm (which I won’t elaborate on for this blog -that is for another time). But if you let it, it will allow you to weather your storm too!
The fact is, we AREN’T alone. Not in life and not ever! There are SO many humans out there that care and I have been privileged to discover just how many recently! But I don’t just mean on a physical level. We are all a part of the vast fabric of the universe itself. A leaf upon the living breathing tree of life! We are all existing on the tree and we are all part of the collective network of the tree-and maybe even the divine forest itself!
There is nowhere you can go, or no mistake you can make that erases this. One of our only missions while here is to realise this for ourselves and to embrace it as truth!
Now look up at the sky and smile! You are part of that! A magnificent part of the fabric of reality itself. Wow.
And you are not alone! Mi
